Planning an overnight kayaking trip in the Stockholm Archipelago? Here’s a complete packing checklist to help you prepare. Our expedition kayaks are designed for long-distance travel and have roomy hatches to carry your gear—but smart packing is key.

Kayaking Checklist

Personal paddling gear

  • Quick-dry clothing (non-cotton long-sleeve shirt, shorts/pants)
  • Rain/windproof jacket
  • Water shoes or sandals with a heel strap
  • Water bottle (reusable)
  • Sunglasses or glasses with strap
  • Sun protection (sunscreen, lip balm)
  • Set of drybags for clothes and electronics
  • Waterproof watch

Group/shared paddling gear

  • Map and compass (deck compass optional)
  • Extra paddle
  • Bilge pump
  • Tow line
  • First aid kit
  • Gear available to rent → see rental list

🏕️ Camping gear

  • Tent
  • Sleeping bag (in drybag)
  • Sleeping pad/mattress

  • Warm outdoor clothes (packed dry)

🍲 Food ideas

Main meals:

  • Rice, pasta, porridge
  • Dry sausage, tinned food, sandwiches
  • Muesli, eggs

Snacks:

  • Bananas, apples
  • Nuts, raisins
  • Dark chocolate, muesli bars

💧 Water supply

  • Bring ~2 liters per person per day
  • 1.5L bottles fit well in kayak hatches
  • You’ll likely be able to refill after 2–3 days, but carry extra if heading to remote islands
