Grocery Stores in the Stockholm Archipelago

Planning a multi-day kayak trip? Here’s where to find local grocery stores and stock up on food for your archipelago adventure.

If you’re heading out on an overnight or multi-day kayak trip, it’s important to plan your food shopping in advance. Whether you want to bring freeze-dried meals, eat at local restaurants, or cook your own food outdoors, you’ll need to be prepared.

Our expedition kayaks have roomy hatches for all your gear—tent, stove, pots, and food. Most camping equipment is included in our overnight packages, but you bring the food.

🛍️ Shops near our base

There are two ICA grocery stores within 2.5–3 km of our kayak center. You can get there by bus or borrow one of our bikes (if available).
ICA Vaxholm – slightly bigger, better stocked
ICA Resarö – smaller but convenient

🏝️ Shops in the archipelago

Many larger islands have small stores, cafés, or restaurants—but most of them are only open during the high season (Midsummer to mid-August). We recommend stocking up before departure, especially on dry goods like pasta, rice, canned food, or snacks.
