Booking terms and cancellation policy​

This policy applies to reservations made from February 22, 2025 onwards. If you reserved your tour before this, the terms and conditions that were included in your tour confirmation apply.

Overview

Reservation

Reservations are made through our online booking system. For corporate groups, schools, and events arranged via email, contact us for special rates and tailored programs.

Bookings are binding after payment. By paying, you accept these terms and conditions. The English version of the terms and conditions is legally binding. Any translations provided are for your convenience only and may not be fully accurate. Automatic reminder emails are sent before the due date.

Payment Schedule

Depending on the length of your booking we charge a deposit or total payment at the time of booking. Automatic reminder emails are sent before the due date.

  • Day tours and day rentals: full payment upon booking.
  • Multiday rentals and packages: deposit of 500–1,000 SEK at booking, with the balance due 14 days before departure. Reservations made less than 30 days before arrival also require full payment upon booking.
 
Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we strive to provide flexibility whenever possible. Unless otherwise agreed, the following cancellation policy applies:

Regular Day Tours and Day Rentals: You can reschedule for free or receive a refund if the cancellation is made at least 24 hours before departure. For cancellations less than 24 hours before departure or in case of no-shows, no refund or rescheduling is possible.

Private Tours, Multiday Rentals, and Packages: Cancellations made at least 7 days before departure are eligible for a refund or a free rescheduling option, subject to availability. If you cancel between 6 days and 48 hours before departure, we offer a free rescheduling option, subject to availability. Cancellations less than 48 hours before departure or no-shows are non-refundable.

Multiday Guided Tours, Group Bookings Over 10 Participants, Schools, Events, and Corporate Rentals: Cancellations made 14 to 8 days before departure are eligible for a 50% refund or a free rescheduling option, subject to availability. For cancellations within 7 days of departure or no-shows, no refund can be provided.

Cancellations must be emailed to info@kanotcenter.com. Refunds are processed within 14 days. 

Cancellations by Us

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule rentals/tours due to health, safety, or weather conditions. Dangerous weather includes strong winds and heavy thunderstorms. In such cases, you may rebook or receive a refund. Rebooking is valid for up to 2 years.

Rescheduling

We understand that life happens and plans can change unexpectedly. If your circumstances change, reach out to us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your new schedule with a free rescheduling opportunity. Rescheduling is subject to availability and is not refundable.

Responsibility
  • By booking our services, you confirm that you have valid liability and health insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure adequate coverage. We do not accept any liability for the absence of such insurance.
  • Customers are fully responsible for lost or damaged equipment and must return it in the same condition as received.

No deposit is required, but any lost or damaged equipment must be paid for based on the cost of a new replacement. Delayed or refused payments will incur additional recovery charges. A damage report will be issued for insurance claims.
  • Kayaks are classified as small craft, and you are required to follow maritime law. All routes are open to regular boat traffic, and you are responsible for navigating safely and adhering to traffic regulations.
  • We may deny rentals or tours due to inappropriate behavior or poor judgment. No refund will be issued in such cases.
  • If your equipment is damaged or you experience any technical issues during your trip, you must inform us immediately.
  • You are responsible for returning all equipment at the agreed time. We do not provide a pickup service. If you or your group encounter difficulties returning on time, we recommend contacting a boat taxi service at your own expense.
  • Please ensure your kayak/canoe is cleaned upon return; otherwise, a 200 SEK cleaning fee per gear will be charged.
  • Equipment collection and return must be during opening hours.

 

Customer Obligations
  • Present a valid ID or passport to sign the rental contract.
  • Be able to swim when booking water activities.
  • Always wear a buoyancy aid on the water.
  • Smoking and alcohol consumption are prohibited.
  • Plan trips according to your skill level and weather conditions.
  • Report delays by calling +46 8 541 377 90. Late returns will be charged as an additional full day.
  • Bring a mobile phone and keep it turned on for safety purposes.
  • Provide a valid and reachable contact number when booking. This is important for safety reasons, allowing us to reach you in case of rescheduling, weather updates, or other important matters.
  • Follow public access rights and respect wildlife protection.

 

Guided Tours
  • Participants will be required to sign a waiver before the tour, confirming their acknowledgment of the risks and responsibilities involved.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour starts to ensure smooth check-in. Late arrivals beyond 10 minutes from the start time may result in being unable to join the group, with no refund provided.
  • Participants should be in average physical condition, allowing for a few hours of activity at the group’s pace. If unsure, consider booking a private tour.
  • If you have any medical condition, you are required to consult with your doctor before participating. You take full responsibility for any potential health consequences.
  • Tours run rain or shine, except when we determine it is unsafe (in which case you will be offered a refund or the option to reschedule). No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions that the customer finds unsatisfactory. If you wish to reschedule, please reach out to us, and we will do our best to find a suitable alternative based on availability.
 
Gift Cards

Gift cards are valid for 2 years, can be transferred to others, and can be used for any activity directly organized by us. They are non-refundable.

Data Protection (GDPR)

We store your booking information to process the contract, issue invoices, and communicate with you during the contract period. Photos may be taken during tours for promotional use with your consent—please inform the guide if you do not wish to be photographed.
