Explore the wild side of the Stockholm Archipelago on our 3-day kayak adventure. Paddle from island to island, camp under the stars, and disconnect from the world.
Preparing for Your Adventure
We’ll meet at our kayak base by the sea – just 45 minutes from Stockholm. Over Swedish fika (coffee and pastries!), you’ll get to know your guide and fellow paddlers. We’ll go through the plan for the trip, safety tips, and the basics of kayaking in the archipelago. Then it’s time to pack your gear into dry bags, adjust your kayak, and get ready to launch.
Time to Paddle!
With your kayak fully loaded and the sea ahead, we paddle off into the islands. The route often heads towards Grinda, but the exact plan depends on wind and weather. Along the way, we’ll stop on a small scenic island to cook and enjoy our first outdoor lunch together – tasty, simple, and cooked right by the sea.
Camp & Chill
In the afternoon, we’ll choose a peaceful island for our first camp. Time to set up your tent, go for a swim, or just relax by the water. Dinner is cooked together under the open sky – it always tastes better after a day of paddling. As the sun sets and the sea calms, we wind down by the campfire and settle into archipelago life.
After a relaxed breakfast by the sea, we’ll break camp and paddle deeper into the archipelago. Depending on the wind and weather, our route may take us past iconic islands like Grinda and Gällnö, known for their wild beauty, peaceful forests, and postcard-perfect red cottages dotting the shorelines.
We’ll glide through narrow passages and open bays, stopping on picturesque islands for a refreshing swim, a snack, and an outdoor lunch surrounded by nature.
As we paddle, keep your eyes peeled for white-tailed eagles soaring above, ospreys hunting, and the occasional curious seal popping up to say hello. Each island we pass tells its own quiet story – shaped by wind, sea, and time.
In the afternoon, we’ll search for the perfect island campsite. Once we land, there’s time for a swim, pitching tents, and preparing dinner as the sun sets behind the trees. A peaceful end to a day of true island adventuring.
On your final day, we’ll make the most of the morning with one last paddle through the stunning archipelago, taking in the peaceful waters and breathtaking scenery. After a delicious lunch on a beautiful island, we’ll head back to our kayak base, where you’ll have time to repack and refresh. While we take care of the equipment, feel free to unwind—if you wish, you can opt for a relaxing sauna session (available as an add-on).
After a final debriefing with your guides and fellow adventurers, you’ll be ready to catch public transport back to Stockholm. Public transport options are nearby, making it easy to head back to the city. We recommend spending the afternoon relaxing in Stockholm, treating yourself to a well-deserved dinner and enjoying a taste of urban life after your wild adventure.

Outdoor clothes should be chosen based on the weather forecast. Avoid cotton and opt for quick-drying fabrics or merino wool instead. Quick-dry hiking pants or shorts, a thermal top, and wet shoes or sandals with proper straps (shoes you don’t mind getting wet) are recommended. Make sure to pack a fleece too, just in case it gets chilly later in the day.
Absolutely! This multi-day adventure is beginner-friendly, and your guide will give you a thorough introduction to paddling and safety before we set off. You’ll learn everything you need to know along the way, and we’ll take it at a pace that works for the group. While no previous kayaking experience is required, a moderate level of physical fitness will help you enjoy the journey comfortably.
We mainly use 2-person kayaks as they’re easy to paddle and perfect for most participants. If you’re paddling solo and have experience, you may be given a 1-person kayak. In case of an odd number of participants, we may pair up people to ensure everyone has a great experience. Our guide will assist with this! 😊
No worries—our guides always check the weather and choose the best route based on wind and rain. We’ll make sure the trip stays safe and fun. A nice surprise: the weather in the archipelago is often better than in Stockholm! Rain clouds usually stay over the mainland, while the islands often get more sun and clear skies.
In Sweden, we like to say there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing—so pack layers and rain gear, and you’ll be just fine. You might get wet even when it’s not raining – that’s just part of the kayaking experience! Thunderstorms are rare and usually short-lived, and a rainy day can still be full of magic, great paddling, and good stories shared under a tarp.
We don’t offer hotel pick-up, except for private group bookings upon request. But don’t worry—getting here is simple! Just follow the steps below, and you’ll be on your way to an amazing adventure. 🚣✨
