Wood-fired sauna with a bath in the sea

Quick details

Enjoy Swedish sauna in Stockholm Archipelago and take a bath in the sea.

Stepping into a sauna is cleansing for both body and soul. And what can be better than kayaking followed by sauna and a refreshing dip in the sea? Traditional wood burning stove provides the best sauna experience. The soft heat, lush hiss of steam, crackles of a wood and the ritual of tending the fire cannot be matched by electric heater. It is a heritage that many cultures worldwide have treasured for hundreds of years. Enjoy sauna in the most traditional way.

Our waterfront sauna is located in the kayak rental base. Sauna is pre-warmed for you but it is your responsibility to keep the fire burning. Wood is available at our place. Temperature inside varies between 60 to 80 C degrees. Please note there is no shower. We take a dip in the sea all year round.

  • No underwear or swimwear in the sauna room – the reason is hygienic as water from the sea with algae and other things risks entering the sauna.
  • Always use a towel or other type of seating mat (not synthetic).
  • A towel around the body may be used in the sauna room.
  • Pour only fresh water on the stove.
  • No food and snacks inside the sauna room.
  • No alcohol drinking.
  • No glass bottles for safety reason. If a glass falls and breaks, it is very difficult to remove all fragments.
  • Big cotton towel for the body and feet
  • Flip flops / sandals to go in and out
  • Water bottle
