What to Expect

The tour begins at Skärgårdens Kanotcenter, located on Resarö just outside Vaxholm. You can get here easily by public transport or choose our optional pick-up from Stockholm (Tekniska Högskolan metro). Upon arrival, you’ll meet your guide, change clothes if needed, and store extra belongings securely at the kayak center.

Your guide will fit you with all necessary kayaking gear. A short briefing covers paddling techniques and safety instructions — with a hands-on introduction on land before we head out onto the water.

We paddle through calm waters for about 5 – 8 km at a relaxed pace. The route passes through scenic island landscapes and by Bogesund Nature Reserve. The peaceful surroundings, golden light, and reflections on the water make this a magical moment.

Create memories as vibrant as the sunset on our kayak tour in Stockholm

Halfway through the paddle, we’ll pause to enjoy refreshing lemonade and a light fika directly in the kayak — a relaxing break in the evening calm.

The quiet conditions often bring nature closer. Keep an eye out for beavers, seals, and birds like oystercatchers and herons along the shoreline.

Back at Skärgårdens Kanotcenter, you can end the evening with a traditional wood-fired sauna and, if you dare, a dip in the Baltic Sea — a true Swedish experience.

We can’t guarantee a beaver sighting, but the area is their natural habitat, and we often spot them swimming or working on their lodges. Even if they stay hidden, you’ll enjoy a magical evening surrounded by stunning nature and other wildlife.
