Explore the hidden beauty of Bogesund Nature Reserve, where Vikings lived over 1000 years ago. Glide past green meadows, old oak trees, and quiet farms with horses while paddling through sheltered waters—perfect for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way! You might spot seals, ospreys, or even a white-tailed sea eagle soaring above. The coastline is home to herons, cormorants, oystercatchers, and more, so have your camera ready!
After kayaking, arrive at a hidden gem of a restaurant, nestled in the forest by the water. Enjoy a seasonal Swedish lunch, choosing from three dishes, including a vegetarian option. The meal includes a salad bar, fresh bread, coffee, tea, and water. The stunning view of Vaxholm Castle and the sea makes this a meal to remember.
After the tour, we’ll drop you off in charming Vaxholm, the heart of the archipelago. Take your time to stroll through its colorful streets, visit cozy shops and cafés, or enjoy some delicious ice cream. If you’re up for more adventure, explore the historic Vaxholm Fortress! When you’re ready, head back to Stockholm by ferry or bus.
What Our Guests Are Saying
Dress for the weather! We recommend comfortable outdoor clothing and a windproof jacket. We provide paddling jackets for extra warmth if needed. There’s a beach at the end where you can swim, so don’t forget your swimsuit and towel!
Absolutely! This tour is beginner-friendly, and your guide will give you a quick introduction before we start. The waters are calm, making it a great experience even for first-time paddlers. However, a moderate level of physical fitness is recommended.
We mainly use 2-person kayaks as they’re easy to paddle and perfect for most participants. If you’re paddling solo and have experience, you may be given a 1-person kayak. In case of an odd number of participants, we may pair up people to ensure everyone has a great experience. Our guide will assist with this! 😊
We don’t offer hotel pick-up, but joining the tour is easy! 🚐 We meet at Tekniska Högskolan metro station in Stockholm, which is easily accessible by subway—no traffic jams, just a smooth ride! From there, our bus will take you to the starting point of the tour. After the tour, we’ll drop you off in Vaxholm, where you can enjoy some free time before heading back to Stockholm.
Safety first! We paddle in light rain, which can actually make for a more atmospheric experience! However, if the weather conditions are unsafe, we’ll offer to reschedule your tour or provide a full refund. Don’t worry, we also provide waterproof jackets and hats to keep you comfortable during the adventure!
